Police urged members of the public to properly secure their vehicles after items were stolen from three separate cars on Tuesday.

A spokesman said thieves stole cash and other valuables from the vehicles, which were all unlocked, before making their escape.

The spokesman advised: “Even if just running out to quickly grab something from a nearby store, lock your vehicle.

“Similarly, remember to lock any parked vehicle before leaving it unattended, including any vehicle that will be parked outside your home overnight.”

People should not leave purchased items in plain view and should park in high trafficked and well lit areas to deter potential thieves.
