Man denies sexual assault this week at East End

A man has been charged in Magistrates’ Court with sexually assaulting a woman.

The 38-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, denied the offence and chose to have the case heard in the lower court.

The man allegedly committed the offence in St George’s on Wednesday.

Magistrate Maria Sofianos adjourned the case to March 9 and released the defendant, from St George’s, on $20,000 bail with surety.

Conditions of his bail include surrendering travel documents, reporting to Hamilton Police Station twice a week and not contacting the alleged complainant or any prosecution witnesses.
