Museum offers free entry for residents next month
Bermuda residents will be able to visit the National Museum of Bermuda for free throughout the month of February.
Elena Strong, the NMB executive director, thanked RenaissanceRe and Butterfield for their support in bringing the Free for February promotion back for its thirteenth year.
She said: “Museums play a vital role in bringing people together. They are places of connection, curiosity and community learning.
“This initiative ensures that everyone has the opportunity to explore Bermuda’s history and heritage, discover new stories and enjoy our grounds at no cost.”
The NMB, located in Dockyard, features a range of displays focused on the island’s history and culture along with historic cannon, traditional Bermudian watercraft and the Hall of History mural by artist Graham Foster.
Throughout February, visitors can pick up a family activity from the NMB ticket office, offering a fun and interactive way to explore the museum. Visitors can also enter a weekly raffle to win a free family membership.
The museum will also host its Community Day on February 22 featuring food vendors, door prizes, cannon firings, artist talks, dolphin demonstrations, Gombey performances and more.

Angela A’Zary, senior vice-president at RenaissanceRe, said the company was proud to support the NMB’s educational initiatives.

Jody Feldman, managing director of Butterfield, added: “Free for February offers an inclusive and accessible way for everyone to engage with Bermuda’s history and culture.
“We encourage everyone to join us for Community Day, get involved and enjoy everything the museum offers year-round.”
To take advantage of the free entry to the museum, Bermuda residents are asked to bring proof of residency such as a driver's licence or a utility bill.
The museum is open daily from 10am to 5pm with last admissions at 4pm.
