Woman on remand after denying threat to magistrate

A woman charged with threatening to shoot a magistrate has been remanded in custody until her next court appearance.

Stephanie Hollis, 40, denied threatening to injure magistrate Maria Sofianos “on account of something done by her as a holder of judicial office” when she appeared last week in Magistrates’ Court.

Ms Hollis, from Warwick, allegedly said “If I see that woman on the street, I will shoot her in the head” while in the Dame Lois Browne-Evans building on February 4.

Magistrate Tyrone Chin adjourned the case to March 9 and remanded Ms Hollis in custody until that time.
