Sexual assault indictment against Bermuda-linked man
The former part-owner of a popular brewery in Charlotte, North Carolina, who had operated the business with his now-estranged Bermudian wife, has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of raping a 13-year-old girl in December.
Records from the state’s Stanly Superior Court show that Justin Tawse Brigham was accused on March 2 of statutory sexual offences against a child below age 15 on December 10, 2025, when he was 44 years old.
He was also charged with sexual exploitation of a minor four days earlier than the alleged offence, as well as solicitation by computer, also on December 10.
Mr Brigham was ordered by the jury to appear in court for arraignment on March 30.
Sycamore Brewing, which included a Bermuda-inspired lager, changed its name in the month after Mr Brigham’s arrest.
Stanly County Sheriff’s Office previously reported that Mr Brigham was apprehended after the girl’s parents discovered an “unknown naked man” in her bedroom. He was arrested after police found him unclothed in “a nearby vehicle”.
