City announces return of drive-in event

Two films will be shown at the City Hall Car Park during the Easter weekend at an outdoor entertainment event.

The City of Hamilton said Fresh Air Films: Drive-In Edition will be held on April 4, and the evening will also feature family-friendly activities and entertainment.

Presented by SailGP, attendees can watch an episode from its long-form documentary series that takes fans behind the scenes of the Bermuda Sail Grand Prix.

The showing features the PG-rated Despicable Me 4 which will start at 6.30pm.

It will be followed by Jurassic World: Rebirth at 9pm.

To mark approximately one month to go for the 2026 Apex Group Bermuda Sail Grand Prix, SailGP will showcase an episode of Uncharted.

Julien di Biase, SailGP’s chief operating officer, said: “As we count down to the 2026 Apex Group Bermuda Sail Grand Prix, this is a great opportunity for fans to get a behind-the-scenes look at the excitement and innovation that defines our sport.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming both new and returning fans to Bermuda next month for an unforgettable weekend of world-class racing, and we encourage everyone to secure their tickets now to experience the thrill.”

Gates to the film showings will open at 5.30pm.

The City said patrons must present a receipt valued $25 or more from any Hamilton business — dated between March 1 and April 4 — to enter.

Each receipt allows entry for up to four people, and guests are welcome to remain for both films.

The evening will also feature activities and entertainment ahead of the films, including a game of Kahoot, where participants can compete for a one-year Platinum Touch 4 Wash Membership from Auto Solutions Ltd.

There will also be giveaways for the younger attendees.

Food and refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the evening, with attendees also encouraged to support City restaurants and bring their takeout meals to enjoy during the films.

In addition to drive-in parking, the City said designated bike parking and a limited seating section at the front of the venue will be available for guests without vehicles.
