Waterfront expands e-commerce push
Waterfront Group and digital consultancy Socialprise have launched four electronic commerce platforms, with a fifth site expected soon, as part of a broader effort to expand online ordering and customer engagement across several island businesses.
The roll-out, developed in partnership with Socialprise’s performance marketing arm We Hypr, includes new platforms for catering, events, marine services and curated gifts tied to Waterfront and Miles Market brands.
The companies said the initiative forms part of Waterfront’s wider e-commerce strategy for fiscal year 2026, focused on digital growth, customer engagement and operational efficiency.
The launch comes as Bermuda businesses continue building on digital ordering systems that gained momentum during the Covid-19 pandemic. Bermuda grocers including Miles Market expanded online ordering, delivery and kerbside pick-up as demand surged. The MarketPlace launched online grocery ordering back in 2019.
Miles already has some e-commerce infrastructure through its existing online grocery platform and “Miles-To-Go” ordering system, and the new initiatives have already begun showing results. In February, Miles reported that its curated gifting site had boosted Valentine’s ordering activity.
Among the new platforms are catering.miles.bm, which allows customers to place catering orders online for events and private functions, and pwmarine.bm, which offers online payment of service invoices and click-and-collect purchasing for marine products and services.
Another platform, curated.miles.bm, focuses on flowers, gourmet hampers and wine subscriptions through Miles Market’s Epicurean Club.
A fifth e-commerce site for Waterfront Man is also expected to launch with click-and-collect functionality.
The companies said the platforms integrate secure digital payments through Butterfield Bank and should streamline operations while improving the customer experience.
Waterfront and Socialprise said Bermuda’s domestic e-commerce market could eventually represent between $150 million and $250 million in annual sales as more local businesses invest in digital commerce infrastructure.
