Seen, Safe and Supported — LGBTQ+ Health in Bermuda

In this special Pride Month episode, host Carrie Astwood sits down with Joshua Samuels, Executive Director of OUTBermuda — Bermuda's only LGBTQ+ charity. Together they explore the very real health impacts of discrimination and stigma, the barriers LGBTQ+ Bermudians face when accessing care, and the support available right here on the island. A timely, important, and deeply human conversation about what it means to feel safe, seen and well.

Joshua Samuels is the Executive Director of OUTBermuda, Bermuda's only LGBTQ+ charity. Joshua brings over 20 years of global non-profit experience with a strong focus on equity for marginalised communities. His career has spanned the US and UK, most recently leading the Black Mental Health Collective for Mind — the UK's largest mental health charity. He returned home to Bermuda in 2024 to lead OUTBermuda into its next chapter.
