Summer Artisan Vendor Market

This weekend The Loren is launching its first Summer Artisan Vendor Market. A selection of local artisans, designers and makers will be setting up shop in an open air shopping experience. With items ranging from jewellery, home decor, wellness products, fashion and other home-made goods, this event provides the community a showcase for island makers. This is a family-friendly event with free entry for seniors and children.

BUEI Kids Hour

It’s all about starfish for this month’s edition of BUEI’s Kids Hour. Families with children aged 3 and above are invited to enjoy and learn about ocean life. The event will feature a reading of Stella the Starfish by Nikki Sullivan and a showing of the short film The Spiny World of Echinoderms from Johnathan Bird’s Blue World. This event is free for BUEI members and $5 per child for non-members.

Artist Talk: Michael Frith with Special Guests

This weekend one of Bermuda National Gallery’s most popular exhibitions, The Art of Michael K. First: From Pencil to Puppet, will close to the public. To celebrate the success of the exhibit and Bermuda’s puppet pioneer, the gallery will be hosting an exclusive talk hosted by Michael K Frith. Joining Mr Frith on stage will be Lisa Henson, the chief executive of The Jim Henson Company, puppeteer Jennifer Barnhart, and puppeteer, writer and producer Kathryn Mullen. BNG invites the community to join them for the last opportunity to visit the exhibition and hear directly from one of Bermuda's greatest living creatives.

Sanchez Live in Bermuda

International reggae artist Sanchez is returning to Bermuda with his Chronic band to perform live. This will be his first time back to the island since 2016. Hosted by DJ Chubb the evening will also feature musical selections from local artists such as DJ iBreeze, Jessie Seymour and Jugglin Jason. This promises to be an evening of timeless lovers’ rock, reggae hits and island energy.

17th Annual Robinson/ Packwood Memorial Lecture

As part of The Bermudian Heartbeats 2026 Lecture series, this year’s Robinson/Packwood Memorial Lecture instalment touches on the topic of the history of emancipation. When a Royal Navy captain seized a ship for illegally transporting enslaved Bermudians to another colony, it sparked discussions about the future of slavery across the British Empire. Led by Neil Kennedy, the lecture will discuss the illegal slave trade the captain believed he had uncovered, why the case was considered a precedent for the treatment of enslaved people, particularly children, and how one local incident carried far-reaching implications.
