Water main repairs affect traffic in Sandys

A section of Somerset Road has been reduced to a single lane today to accommodate water main repairs.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Public Works said the lane closure between Sound View Road and Bay Lane is expected to continue until 6pm.

She said: “Motorists should expect traffic delays and are encouraged to use caution when travelling through the work zone.

“Traffic will be managed by Intelligent Trenching representatives using stop-and-go signs and, at times, traffic lights.

“The Ministry of Public Works thanks the public for its cooperation and apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
