Canadian nationals charged with heroin importation
Two Canadian nationals were remanded in custody this morning after being accused of trafficking heroin.
Jacqueline Robinson, 32, and Laura Robinson, 50, were charged in Magistrates’ Court with importing a controlled drug, namely diamorphine, also known as heroin, into Bermuda on August 15.
The Ontario natives were not required to enter a plea as the matter must be heard in front of the Supreme Court.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson denied the pair bail, but allowed them to contest the decision in the higher court.
They will appear in the Supreme Court arraignments session on October 5.
