Tackle the housing crisis now

Bermuda needs to build housing in Hamilton, says letter writer Keith Godfrey (Photograph by Shane Mora)

Dear Sir,

We have a housing crisis, so why aren’t there apartment complexes being built on the empty sites in the City?

The Progressive Labour Party has been in power, for the second time around, for nine years. Where are the planners? The housing crisis is not a new thing and is only getting worse because it has been ignored.

The PLP is too busy going to useless Caricom meetings, travelling the world and buying new cars instead of tackling the problems staring it in the face.

I hope the voters wake up at the next general election and come out in force to get these incompetent people out of office.

Come on, One Bermuda Alliance, recruit some young, dynamic new faces with new energy and new ideas. I certainly don’t see any right now.

Wake up, Bermuda, before we end up like Jamaica, riddled with crime, with a dollar worth practically nothing, and where you cannot leave your hotel complex at night.

Bermuda is better than this. We need competent people running the show.
