Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision involving a fire truck and a taxi in Paget yesterday morning.

A spokesman said that at about 10.15am, officers responded to a reported “damage-only” incident involving vehicles driven in opposite directions.

Initial information indicated that the fire truck had its emergency equipment activated as it travelled along South Road.

Near Inglewood Lane, the taxi pulled over and stopped — but an unknown car driver was travelling in front of the fire truck when the collision occurred with the taxi, as the truck attempted to manoeuvre around the car.
