Future Pro Academy’s maiden participation at the Bermuda Triangle Cup last month seems to be bearing fruit with two more Bermudian players unveiled this week.

Shammai Smith, who featured as a guest player for Dandy Town in the Triangle Cup, was the first player to be announced by the English academy on Wednesday. A day later, Jason Dixon-DeSilva was the second player unveiled.

“We are delighted to welcome Shammai to Future Pro,” the academy said.

“Shammai joins us following his participation in the Bermuda Triangle Cup with Dandy Town Hornets, gaining valuable tournament experience before beginning his next chapter with Future Pro.

“We look forward to supporting Shammai’s continued development and progression throughout his football journey with us.”

Central midfielder Dixon-DeSilva represented Somerset Trojans in the competition won by Future Pro.

“We’re pleased to welcome Jason to Future Pro as he begins his journey with the programme,” the academy said.

“Jason recently competed in the Bermuda Triangle Cup with Somerset Trojans and now joins Future Pro for the next stage of his football journey.

“We’re excited to welcome Jason to the Future Pro environment and look forward to seeing his progress throughout the season ahead.”

Since Future’s participation in the Triangle Cup, four Bermuda players have signed up for the programme. Goalkeeper Quincy Ratteray joined the Coventry-based academy at the beginning of this month, followed a few days later by Christian Smith.

The four join a growing list of Bermudian players from the island already being prepared for the professional world at the high-performance football and education programme. Kennahz Fray, Harlem Bean-Fox, Chedi Smith, Jahni Simmons and Shiloh Waite have been with Future Pro for at least a season.

Last week, Future Pro hosted G-Ball Academy, with the team from Bermuda playing a competitive fixture against a touring Antigua & Barbuda side. Goalkeeper Curtis Jackson, who was instrumental in Future Pro’s success at the Triangle Cup, was part of G-Ball.

“It was fantastic to welcome the G-Ball Academy players and staff to our Academy, with some familiar faces returning to Future Pro after featuring in our 2026 Bermuda Triangle Cup-winning squad,” Future Pro added.

“A great opportunity to reconnect, compete and continue building international football relationships.

“Thank you for visiting us, G-Ball Academy Bermuda — we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.”

Meanwhile, G-Ball continued with their England tour by playing Maidstone United Under-16 on Tuesday in a 4-4 draw.

Bermudian midfielder Noah-George Outerbridge, who toured England two years ago with the academy founded by Josef Gooden and football legend Clyde Best, is now part of the youth structures at the English non-league club.
