A rider sustained serious injuries this afternoon after a two-vehicle crash in Paget.

The Bermuda Police Service reported on its Facebook page that the collision involved a motorcycle and a car near the junction of Manse Road and Harbour Road.

A spokesman said that at about 1pm today, police received multiple calls regarding the incident in which a male motorcyclist attempted to overtake a car as they both headed west along Harbour Road.

In the process, the rider collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction and he fell on the roadway.

The man sustained facial as well as suspected head injuries.

At the scene, officers found the motorcyclist breathing but unresponsive.

He was attended to by EMTs from Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

The car driver, also a male, was uninjured.

The road was closed to all traffic for about two hours while forensic personnel and a traffic collision investigator processed the scene.

Traffic was diverted from the area and the police thanked the public for their co-operation.
