Bermuda takes top tourism award for fourth year in a row
Bermuda has once again been named the region’s No 1 island, thanks to the readers of a leading tourism publication.
The island clinched the top spot in the Condé Nast Traveler 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards for the fourth year in a row.
A statement from the Bermuda Tourism Authority said that Bermuda secured a score of 95.24 — the highest over the consecutive years of success.
It added: “More than 750,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers shared their views on recent travel in this year’s survey, one of the travel industry’s longest-running and most closely watched measures of guest satisfaction.”
The results feature online and will be published in the November issue of the US edition of the magazine.
Jan Hutton, the chief executive of the Bermuda Tourism Authority, said: “Four years at the top, with our scores rising every year, tells us something important — this isn't a one-off moment; it's the experience Bermuda delivers, year after year.
“Condé Nast Traveler readers are some of the most well-travelled people in the world, and they keep choosing Bermuda.
“That credit belongs to the people of this island, the hoteliers, restaurateurs, guides, taxi drivers, artists and every Bermudian who makes a visitor feel at home.
“Our job now is to build on it.”
Bermuda first claimed the No 1 spot in 2023 and has held it every year since.
The island’s score has risen consistently, from 90.14 in 2023 to 91.22 in 2024, then 94.82 in 2025.
Bermuda’s lead over the second-ranked destination has also widened, from 0.23 points ahead of the British Virgin Islands in 2025 to 1.07 points ahead of St Lucia this year.
The recognition reflects the attractions that lure people back including pink sand beaches and turquoise water, the culinary scene, more than 400 years of history in the Unesco World Heritage Site of St George, and a warm culture.
The award is decided entirely by readers and, throughout the voting window, the BTA, its agency partners and the wider tourism community encouraged past visitors to share their experiences.
Ms Hutton added: “Recognition like this, voted on by more than 750,000 discerning travellers, is the most credible endorsement a destination can earn.
“It tells our partners, airlines and travel advisers that Bermuda delivers, and it gives us a powerful story to take into our key markets this season.
“We'll be putting this award to work across our marketing so that more travellers discover what our repeat visitors already know.”
