Aon donation funds a year of school breakfasts
A professional services firm has donated $15,000 to help children enjoy a daily breakfast in Bermuda.
Aon announced its gift to the Coalition for the Protection of Children in support of its Breakfast for Every Child programme.
This contribution aims to fund breakfast for an entire academic year at one local school, helping ensure that students start each day with the nutritious meal they need to focus, learn, and thrive.
Leanne Wheatley, vice-president of operations manager and chairwoman of Aon’s donations committee, said: “At Aon, we believe that investing in children’s wellbeing is an investment in our community’s future,
“We are proud to support the Coalition’s Breakfast for Every Child Programme which delivers a simple but powerful form of support, with reliable access to a healthy meal at the start of each school day.
“This is one of the ways that Aon can help ensure that children in Bermuda have resources they need to learn, grow and thrive.”
The Coalition for the Protection of Children welcomed the gift and Kelly Hunt, executive director at CPC, said: “Aon’s generosity means that an entire school can count on breakfast for the full academic year.“
She underlined the tangible impact of the company’s support by adding: “For many children, this programme is the difference between arriving at school hungry or ready to learn.
“And we are deeply grateful for Aon’s continued partnership and commitment to the families we serve.”
