PHC made to fight by Warriors

PHC 2St. David’s 1First half goals from Cecoy Robinson and Blenn Bean were enough to get PHC a hard fought win over ten-men St. David’s at Somerset Cricket Club last night.OJ Minors struck late on for the Islanders who also had –Dominique Lambert sent-off in injury time for abusive –language.Robinson got Zebras off to a good start in the 24th minute when he slotted past Corey Richardson, before Bean made it two on the stroke of half time, beating Richardson high to his near post.The side were dominant in the second half as well and could have been up three after Aquino Grant was brought down in the area.Antwan Russell, however, had his kick saved by –Richardson.While Zebras were creating and squandering chances, OJ Minors struck in the 81st minute to set up a frantic last ten minutes, that ended with Dominique Lambert being –sent off .Somerset Eagles 6Devonshire Colts 1Darin Dowling grabbed a brace as Somerset Eagles thrashed Devonshire Colts in a battle between two sides –struggling in the Premier –Division.The striker was helped by Adolphus Lambert, Troy –Tucker, Tyrone Fubler and Shakir Smith while Ryan Tyrell scored the lone Colts goal.Dowling got the ball rolling in the goal department when he controlled a cross neatly and buried his shot from eight yards in the 24th minute.Tucker hit the post minutes later before skipper Lambert produced a moment of –brilliance in the 27th, weaving his way past two defenders and planting his shot past Colts ‘keeper Greg Rose.Dowling made it three in the 40th with a header from a –corner.Tucker then got his name on the score sheet in the 56th to effectively put the match –beyond Colts.The visitors got a goal from spot, Tyrell storking his kick home in the 79th, but Eagles –responded through defender Fubler four minutes later.Smith capped off a fine –performance and a well taken goal in stoppage time to wrap up the scoring.
