The builder is hoping to open an ice cream parlour on North Street late next year, ready to catch the wave of new activity he feels is coming.

Business will be boosted by National Stadium crowds and visitors to the park to be built on Pembroke Dump, he believes.

"The city eventually will be spreading itself north,'' he said. "There's a few businesses along from Angle Street and also on Parsons Road and North Street that do very good trade.

"I think, looking into the future, it's going to be a bright area for development.'' Mr. Stephenson plans to put up a two-storey building with three shops, one of which will be the ice cream parlour and two of which he will rent out.
