Spring Garden claim Twenty20 cup
BC Allrounders 71;
Spring Garden Cavs 75-4
Spring Garden Cavaliers lifted Commercial Cricket's Twenty20 League Cup when they beat BC Allrounders by six wickets in yesterday's final at Shelly Bay with 29 balls to spare.
BC Allrounders were skittled out for 71, including 22 extras, in 16.3 overs after being sent in as Craig Smith snapped up four for 14 from four overs and Jeff DeSilva wrapped up the innings with two for one in three deliveries.
Although Cavaliers lost skipper Barry Richards for five in the second over, fellow opener Dave Greenidge paved the way for a comfortable victory by making an attractive 34 before falling to Worrell Bean, who finished with two for 13 from 3.1 overs.
Next Sunday, Cavaliers will aim to win another trophy when they take on last season's winners Forties in the Knockout final.
