An organisation that aims to change the lives of young people through training and coaching is in need of more volunteers.

The Mirrors programme is looking for people to help with its four-day Quantum Learning for Students Camp, which will teach 60 middle school students personal development skills.

Zane DeSilva, the Minister of Social Development and Sports, said: “Mirrors relies on community volunteers to build the positive supportive environment necessary for learning and growing.

“A cornerstone of the organisation is building positive relationships between adults and young people.

“It’s one of the Mirrors hallmarks, with proven results shared by both past volunteers and students. I encourage you to volunteer and support our youth.”

Middle school students will work on their personal development skills using neuroscience-based learning techniques developed by the Quantum Learning Network.

They learn the framework for personal success with the 8 Keys of Excellence.

Kimberley Jackson, Mirrors Programme Manager, said: “We keep students’ minds engaged and bodies moving throughout the entire camp through a range of activities focused on communication, collaboration, creativity, character development and of course FUN.”

Volunteers take part in two days of training for the team leader role at camp, which includes free training in the Quantum Learning methods and the 8 Keys of Excellence.

The training will be held on February 10 and 11 and the camp runs from February 14 to 17.
