The Hamilton Princess is to challenge young Bermudians to test their baking skills in a Christmas cookie competition.

The contest, for children aged 12 and under, will ask competitors to submit two cookies of any type.

The cookies will be judged by the hotel’s general manager, the executive chef and the pastry chef for their decoration, taste and how well they reflect the spirit of the holiday.

The winner will receive a pastry class for themselves and up to four friends, to be taught by the hotel’s pastry chef.

Ricardo Cera, executive chef at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting a Christmas cookie competition for kids.

“This is a great opportunity for children to use their imagination and to celebrate the Christmas holidays.

“We look forward to seeing what the young people come up with.”

Anyone interested in entering should take their cookies to the hotel’s Harbourview Ballroom on Thursday, December 21, before 2pm.

The cookies should be in a clear sandwich bag, with the child’s name and age written on it.

Judging will start at 2.30pm, with hot chocolate and refreshments served to those attending.
