Senators set for a quiet session
Another short session is expected in the Senate today as a lack of meaty legislation continues to leave Senators largely twiddling their thumbs.
The pension amendments debated in the House of Assembly two weeks ago will perhaps be the most contentious issue on the agenda while the Bermuda College Amendment Act 2005 will be read for a second time.
Two small pieces of legislation, the Overseas Partnerships Amendment Act 2005 and the Exempted Partnerships Amendment Act 2005 will be also addressed for the first time in the Senate.
Two motions from Opposition Senators on crime and economic empowerment remain on the order paper ? although Senate President Alf Oughton said last night he had heard ?whisperings? that the motions would be carried over for the second week running.
