The latest round of Bermuda Motocross racing resulted in two changes in the standings.

In the 65cc class, Jonte Smith took over from round one winner Tullio Escolastica, who slipped down to fourth. Smith amassed 40 points from two first place finishes and a third.

Zahkie McIntosh and Chad Sutherland came second and third respectively on the slippery track.

Melonie Munro moved into first place in the 80cc C class standings, relegating Anthony Grant to second. Munro had trailed Gary Blackwell, who took the first two motos, but she won the third and took the overall win by a single point when Blackwell faded to fourth. Maurice Simons beat Kyle Tavares for third.

Garry Cann had his way in the 80cc B Class, notching his 12th straight victory. Aaron Cannioner and Lorenzo Burch had led for a few laps, but they could not fend off Cann for the duration and remain second and third in the points.

Zahkie Iris, along with many other riders, encountered problems in the 125cc class with the inclement conditions. But Iris overcame the headache to finish first ahead of Kallen Lewis and Luke Parker.

The 125 Class has been separated into B and C events, each having their own race.

Ashley Simons won all three motos and maintains a lead over Cavon Perinchief who took a second and third to finish runner-up. Graham Sutherland saw off Jermome Dowling for third.

The 125 B and 250 Class provided some of the best races of the day, with Jamel Hassell on the less powerful machine and Otis Ingham, wheel to wheel throughout the afternoon. Although each were winners in their own class, line honours were more important.

Craig Panchaud led the third 125 moto until he was overhauled by Ingham and Hassell and he had to settle for second in the standings. He is now second overall with Duprey Joell third.

SQUASH SQU Both finals in Division One of the AF Smith Corporate Teams Tournament came down to the last game.

Wolves SQ312 defeated Brew Crew 5-4 and TNT defeated Too Close To Call by the same scoreline.

It was down to the number one player in both semis to try and win it with Mel Caines of Wolves edging out Richard Brewer and John Stout of TNT beating Allan Cockyl 3-0.

In the Division One final Stephen Smith got Wolves off to a great start after defeating TNT's Eugene Bothello 3-0.

Smith is a member of the national junior team and is off to represent Bermuda in this weekend's US Junior Olympics.

The number one players then took to the court with Mel Caines representing Wolves against TNT's John Stout. Stout played an extremely consistent game and defeated his more fancied opponent 2-1.

That result left Wolves just one game away from victory.

Justin Robinson, also a member of the national junior team, didn't waste any time in confirming the win for Wolves, dominating the first game against an injured Janine Keeble. Wolves ran out 5-2 winners.

The consolation final in Division One was a much closer affair with Norm's Storms narrowly defeating the Geomagicians 5-4. Moresby Squash Club defeated Sharp Squash Balls by the same score in the Division Two final.

We Huff and We Puff defeated EY Busters in the consolation final 5-3.

SAILING SLG SAILING There was no love lost when husband and wife pair, Brett and Sara Lane Wright, battled it out on Hamilton Harbour in the latest Laser Frostbite races. The pair finished the day separated by just two points, Brett coming out on top thanks to a slightly more consistent day.

Sara had earlier shown why she was the Pan-Am silver medallist in the Laser Radial Class as she reeled off four first place finishes while using a smaller Radial rig against the rest of the fleet's standard rigs.

Blustery conditions greeted all the competitors with 15 to 18 knot north-east winds in the usual shifty harbour.

A total of 16 boats made the starting line with four different winners in the 11 races and many different faces appearing in the top group.

Christian Luthi had two wins and Martin Vezina and Craig Davis one.

The surprise of the day was New Zealander, Todd Olson, finishing third overall without winning any races.

Racing continues this Sunday at 1.00 p.m.
