Wolfpack Spring Basketball League wraps up

The Wolfpack Spring Basketball League wrapped up its season with an electric championship weekend at Mount Saint Agnes Academy Gymnasium.

Players got to showcase incredible effort, standout performances and unforgettable moments from both the Pee Wee (7-10) and junior divisions.

In the Pee Wee Division bronze game, Timberwolves defeated Shadow Pack 33-29 in double overtime. Sebastien Von Herberstein was the dominant force for Timberwolves with 12 points and 18 rebounds.

Predators were 24-16 victorious over Alphas in the championship game. A strong performance from MVP Bryn Davis, who delivered eleven points, six rebounds and one steal, led Predators to victory.

Von Herberstein was adjudged the Pee Wee MVP, Christopher Wheatley the most improved player, while the defensive award went to William Markus.

Timberwolves triumphed 31-23 over Alphas in the Junior Division bronze encounter. It was a tightly contested match, with Timberwolves pulling away late. Koa Raynor Bailey led the charge for the winning side with 13 points, two rebounds and an impressive seven steals.

Shadow Pack won the championship game 49-31 against Predators. It was an upset as Predators were the top seeds.

MVP Traddie Simpson Jr put on a standout performance with 19 points, three rebounds, six assists and three steals.

Frith Decouto was voted junior division MVP, Tyson Grant the most improved player, while Adri Dyer picked up the defensive player award.

Damiso Husband, one of the Wolfpack co-ordinators, expressed the league’s commitment to equip players with the right skills at a young age.

“The best way to prepare for the mental and physical demands of basketball is to play competitive basketball,” Husband said.

“At Wolfpack, we are committed to continuing the development of our players through training, education and the consistent execution of the game at a high level.

“We are truly grateful to our players, parents, coaches, volunteers and fans for making this spring league a success.

“Their dedication and support are what allow us to keep building a positive, competitive and growth‑focused basketball community.”
