The Bank of Butterfield today rose on both The Royal Gazette/BSX Index and the New York Stock Exchange.

On the BSX, the bank went up by 90 cents, or 3.6 per cent, to $26 after 2,956 shares traded.

In New York the bank’s price stood at $26.95, a 68 cent, or 2.59 per cent increase.

Utilities firm Ascendant was unchanged at $6.50 after 24,750 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 40.48 points, or 2.47 per cent, at 1,676.28.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 14.33 points, or 0.86 per cent, at 1,679.78.
