Trial date set for two men accused of running a Ponzi scheme

A jury trial date has been set for the two men who led the worldwide Ponzi scheme involving Bermudian Andre Curtis.Daniel Two Feathers and Shawn Swor will appear at Russell Smith Courthouse, Missoula, Montana on February 27, accused of investment fraud, receipt of stolen money in interstate commerce and money laundering in relation to the scam which conned investors out of $4 million in 2008.The Montana Commissioner has previously ruled against Mr Two Feathers, Mr Swor and a number of co-conspirators, including Mr Curtis, the political campaign manager for former Premier Ewart Brown.The federal charges, which the pair deny, carry penalties of decades in jail and fines of hundreds of thousands of dollars. They appeared before Judge Donald Molloy on Wednesday, where they were given their trial date.Sources say federal charges are expected against more individuals involved in the Ponzi scheme.Mr Curtis has previously been fined $335,000 and ordered to pay back victims he had duped by falsely promising massive returns as part of the scam.
