Man charged with child sex assault

Magistrates Court: Plea court (File photograph)

A 25-year-old man yesterday denied a series of sex assaults on a 15-year-old girl.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court to three counts of sex assault on a child while in a position of trust.

The incidents are alleged to have happened between April 25, 2018 and September 30, 2019.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe adjourned the case until April 12 and released the defendant, from St George’s, on $5,000 bail.

He ordered him to have no contact with the alleged victim, who also cannot be named for legal reasons.
