A Sandys resident was banned from driving heavy trucks for three months after pleading guilty to driving without due care and attention.

Jeneko Place, 28, admitted the offence in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Matthew Frick, for the Crown, told the court that Place was driving a heavy truck on Middle Road in Southampton shortly after 2.40pm on May 11 when he collided with another vehicle. Neither driver was injured badly.

According to Mr Frick, it had been overcast during the day, but the road had clear visibility at the time of the accident.

In addition to banning Place from driving heavy trucks for three months, senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson fined him $1,000.
