Man faces drugs, obstruction charges
A man has been accused of having more than $470,000 worth of illegal drugs.
Benjamin Rose, 38, was charged with having cannabis and Delta-9 THC with intent to supply when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Mr Rose, from Southampton, was also charged with obstructing police and having two grinders intended for drug misuse.
Prosecutor Audley Quallo said the drugs were valued at more than $470,000.
Mr Rose, who allegedly committed the offences on April 22, was not required to plea yesterday as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos adjourned the case to the June arraignment session and released Mr Rose on $40,000 bail with a surety until that time.
She also ordered Mr Rose to surrender all travel documents and report to the Hamilton Police Station twice a week.
