Bermuda slump to fifth straight loss

Bermuda's humiliating World Twenty20 2012 qualifying campaign in Dubai continued to go from bad to worse after the Islanders slumped to their fifth straight loss against Nepal earlier today.

Bermuda loss the match by 24 runs at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Led by aggressive knocks at the top of the order from skipper Paras Khadka (65) and Sharad Vesawkar (44), Nepal piled up 151 for six in their allotted overs before restricting Bermuda to 127 for five.

Leg spinner Shakti Gauchan (three for 17) was the pick of the Nepal bowlers.

Janeiro Tucker (32) and Dion Stovell (4 for 25) were Bermuda's best performers on the day.

Bermuda, whose chances of advancing to the knockout stage of the competition have been dashed, remain rooted at the bottom of Group A.

They will face Papua New Guinea tomorrow before taking on unbeaten group leaders Afghanistan on Tuesday in their remaining group matches.
