Summer camp sign-up starts Monday morning

The Department of Sport and Recreation has urged parents to register their children for government summer camps before spaces fill up.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport said that because of the high demand for affordable camps, the Government had bolstered camp funding.

She added that through partnerships with private educational and recreational groups, the Government had increased capacity, expanded camp variety and extended durations so camps will be available from July 1 to September 6.

Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, said the intention was to alleviate stress for parents in need of safe and affordable summer services for their children.

Registration will begin at 9.30am on Monday, with parents and guardians able to visit www.sportsandrec.bm to learn more and sign up their children.

The camps will cost $60 per week per child, with online payments available once registration is approved.

This year's camps will remain at last year's rate of $60 per week per child.
