The Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek has received such honours as the top US hotel by Zagat and the top hotel for service in the world as well as top US hotel restaurant by Travel + Leisure. The restaurant’s chef is a two-time Michelin star winner.Prior to managing the luxury boutique hotel in the heart of one of Dallas’ most fashionable neighbourhoods, Mr Graham ran the elite San Ysidro Ranch hotel in Motecito, California just south of Santa Barbara. The hotel is one of the most exclusive and historic destinations in Southern California’s wine country. At the time, Tucker’s was nearly on the brink of bankruptcy. The Government effectively bailed it out by granting it a Special Development Order (SDO) last March to build luxury homes on environmentally and culturally sensitive land. At the time, amid massive public outcry, staff and many politicians suggested a failure of Tucker’s Point would harm tourism and make it even more difficult to attract investors.A year later, the resort has reported improved bookings and occupancy and says the development sites as proposed by the SDO are moving forward in the marketing and development process.
