Local charity gets business bump

The business community has stepped in to help a local charity with their funding gap.FocusCounselling, a treatment and sober living centre, has had its government grant cut by more than half this year. The organisation employees two full-time counsellors and one-part time staffer.LOM held a fundraising cocktail reception for Focus on Wednedsay night on the rooftop of the LOM Building.Mark Jennings, LOM assistant vice president for Investments, who was recently appointed to the Focus board, hosted the event.Focus provides supportive residency, treatment, day labour pool, referral, advocacy in legal matters and drop-in facility.For more information on Focus, call 296 2196 or 532 1292 or visit www.focus.bm
