Barnes left frustrated
Scott Barnes's opening weekend of the Skusa Superkarts USA Pro Tour fell victim to the Covid-19 virus on Friday.
Barnes was competing in the G1 Masters Shifters class for Indiana-based Harden Motorsports Group at the WinterNationals, which were being held at the Nola Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana.
He said he was getting to grips with the track when racing was pulled during qualifying.
“Practices went great, we got faster each session out,” Barnes said.
“The last practice session out we were fastest in our class, It sucks that the event got shut down. Skusa Superkarts USA has not made decisions about what's going to happen in regards to this event.”
The next round of racing, the SpringNationals in Tooele, Utah, are set for May before the series moves to New Castle, Pennsylvania, in August.
The final round will be the Skusa SuperNationals in Las Vegas in November.
