Broken water main cuts supplies

A broken water main has cut supplies to customers, the Government announced yesterday.

The fracture, on Middle Road, near Mosquito Hill, Smith’s, has interrupted the water to customers east of the Middle Road junction with Hermitage Road.

Customers affected include businesses and residents in the Flatts, Shelly Bay and Radnor Road areas, including Dunkley’s Dairy and the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo.

A Government spokesman said a team from the water and sewage section of the public works ministry were working to fix the damage and that normal service was expected to resume on Thursday.

He added: “Customers in need of water during this period are advised to contact a water trucking service.”
