BHS presents its Holiday Bazaar on Saturday

If you’re a bit of a holiday grinch, then you probably won’t want to read today’s column as pretty much everything below is festive-themed fun.There are also lots of opportunities to shop locally for unique Christmas gifts so please consider buying Bermuda whenever possible, especially from small business owners.Here is what’s coming up:The Bermuda High School for Girls presents their 2012 Holiday Bazaar on Saturday from 10am until 3pm in the Jessie Vesey Sporting Centre.More than 20 vendors are selling a variety of goods including jewellery, crafts, accessories and food.There will also be photos with Santa from 11am until 1pm and a gift-wrapping station, a children's corner and pony rides all day. Part proceeds will benefit the school’s Financial Aid Fund.My Sereni-Tea invite you to join them for special day of shopping and relaxation at an open house on Saturday from 9.30am until 6pm.On offer are discounts and prize draws, free Biomat sessions, mini Reiki sessions, mini angel card readings, face painting, tea tastings and homemade soup.Works by Jennifer Rodrigues Designs and Jill Bentley’s Sea Glass & Pottery Jewellery will also be available.Also on Saturday, the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is hosting their annual children’s reading festival at Delta Winter Wonderland aka Victoria Park.With the aim of fostering a love of reading, this event will run from noon until 4pm, with fun castles, popcorn and activities for all ages.Public figures will read books by local authors in the gazebo and a very special guest will have travelled all the way from the North Pole for the free event.
