Black History Month event features poetry, art and more

To mark Black History Month, CV Cafe in St George's will hold an evening of poetry, art and expression on Saturday with the support of The Chewstick Foundation. The evening runs from 6pm until 9pm and will feature spoken-word performances by Kim Dismont-Robinson, Vejay Steede and Alan Smith. There will also be visual art displays by Vanese Gordon, Anne Kermode, John Manderson, Susan Thomas, Dejon (Flow) Simons, Calix Smith, Donna Smith, Ed Smith and Ami Zanders. This is a free event but donations towards The Chewstick Foundation are appreciated. The event raises money for cancer care in Bermuda and enables five nurses to make thousands of home visits annually, at no charge. Walkers leave Dockyard at 7.30am sharp and finish at Albuoy's Point via the scenic Railway Trail. A free ferry leaves from Hamilton at 7am.
