Prince William is coming!
Young Bermudians are invited to take part in a sailing voyage on the tall ship Prince William — a steel-hulled, square-rigged brig built in the UK by the Tall Ships Youth Trust charity.
Prince William will arrive in Bermuda this weekend after a three-week voyage across the Atlantic from the Azores.
She will sail for Charleston, South Carolina on May 7, on an 11-night voyage to link-up with 50 other tall ships from around the world for the Tall Ships Challenge Race series 2007.
The five race series begins in Charleston on May 19 and finishes in Halifax, Nova Scotia in July.
Tim Law, Tall Ships Youth Trust Marketing Director, said: “The Captain and crew of Prince William are really excited about visiting Bermuda again.
“We’re looking forward to a warm welcome and we hope Bermudians will visit us and take the opportunity to get on board as part of the crew.”
There are places on board the sail from Bermuda for anyone aged 18-75 at a special discount rate of $399 per person.
Bursaries are available for youngsters aged 18 to 25 to offset the cost of the voyage, while those aged 16-25 wishing to participate in any of the five races, can also receive help through bursaries.
Prince William can hold 48 people, who will help sail the ship under the supervision of a full-time crew.
Sailing experience is not required and everyone will get a chance to take the helm, keep watch and set the sails.
