Oleander delivers a new helicopter
the container ship Oleander this week.
It will replace the leased helicopter that Bermuda Helicopters Ltd. used last winter.
The Oleander , which arrived on Sunday, also discharged 113 dry and 48 refrigerated containers and some assorted cargo. She sailed on Tuesday, Container Ship Management Ltd. reported.
The container ship Bermuda Islander arrived on Monday and sailed on Tuesday, Meyer Agencies Ltd. reported.
She discharged 72 containers, including ten refrigerated ones. And she returned to Salem with equipment that was used to construct a new North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) hangar at the US Naval Air Station, including a stone crusher, conveyer belts and cement trucks.
Another container ship, the Strong Icelander arrived from Iceland on Friday with supplies for the Base, Meyer reported. She discharged 13 containers at Marginal Wharf before sailing for Norfolk on Saturday.
Turning to cruise ships, the Horizon arrived in Hamilton from New York on Monday, shifted to St. George's yesterday, and sails today. She carried 1,349 passengers.
Dreamward arrived in St. George's on Monday, shifted to Hamilton on Tuesday and sails today for New York. She carried 1,205 passengers.
Meridian arrived at Dockyard from Baltimore on Tuesday and re turns there today. She carried 1,144 passengers.
The Horizon , Dreamward , and Meridian cruise ships are all regular callers represented by Meyer.
The Regal Empress came into Hamilton for the weekend, Meyer reported. Carrying 657 passengers from Newport, Rhode Island, she arrived on Friday and sailed for New York on Saturday.
The Song of America arrived in St. George's from New York on Tuesday, shifted to Hamilton yesterday, and sails tomorrow, John S. Darrell & Co. Ltd.

She carried 1,373 passengers.
Next week, John S. Darrell is expecting the Crystal Harmony at the West End.
The Crystal Cruises ship is arriving from Los Angeles and will be in Bermuda Thursday and Friday.
Meyer is expecting the Norwegian tanker Osco Stripe at the Esso Oil pier tomorrow. The 577-foot ship is arriving from Santo Domingo to discharge fuel.
On Monday, the car ship Victory Ace is expected by Harnett & Richardson Ltd.
Registered in Vanuatu, she is coming from Santo Domingo to discharge 113 cars and 72 cases of parts before sailing for Nassau.
Marine and Ports is advertising in Lloyd's List for a new Dockyard Superintendent.
The successful candidate will replace Mr. Ian Munro, who is returning to Scotland after two and a half years in Bermuda.
