Bermuda Bakery gains $6
Bermuda Bakery gained $6 yesterday, pushing the rarely traded stock up by 20 percent to $36 - a new all time high.
This means that this stock has risen 40 percent since October 20. The Bakery has announced plans to shut down its bread bakery unit, and may develop its prime site on Pitts Bay Road.
The stock has been gradually rising over the years. In this graph the stock was trading at $19.50 in October 2000. It rose to $35 in 2002, but slumped down again, before its meteoric rise in the past two months.
Bank of Butterfield shares, on the other hand, lost 25 cents to close at $38.75, while LOM gained 35 cents to finish at $3.35.
Argus Insurance gained 40 cents to close the day at $20.35.
The index closed down 1.09 points or 0.04 percent at 2,756.20 on a volume of 21,092 shares worth $672,152.15.
