Wesley to step down

Jack Wesley, CEO and president of Bermuda-based Oil Group of Companies, announced that he plans to retire in the middle of next year.

Mr. Wesley's retirement will come after nine years with Oil, an energy industry mutual insurer made up of four companies: Oil Insurance Ltd. (OIL), Oil Casualty Insurance Tld. (OCIL), sEnergy Insurance Ltd. (sEnergy) and Oil Management Services Ltd. (OMSL).

A Press statement said that under Mr. Wesley's leadership, with his taking up the reins as CEO in 2001, the OIL Group has experienced its most expansive growth, increasing membership from 65 companies to its current number of 113 member companies.

The total combined asset base of the three companies has risen from $3.7 billion to $5.4 billion.

Previously, Mr. Wesley worked for the Shell Oil Company, and joined OCIL in April 1996 as a senior vice-president.

Mr. Wesley said: “I anticipate that 2005 will be a good time to retire and return to the US. All three (Oil) companies are in excellent shape financially and in terms of leadership and staff. I am also in good health and want to spend a lot more quality time with my wife, Sue.

“We're both going to miss the excitement of being involved with such a great organisation.”
