Six staff laid off at NADS
since last Friday, has laid off six staff.
Mr. Charles Kempe and Mr. Gil Tucker of accountancy firm Kempe & Whittle have been appointed as joint receivers.
A spokesman for Kempe and Whittle said that of nine employees, three will keep their jobs.
The receivers are currently establishing the company's assets and liabilities, the spokesman said.
The Bank of Bermuda, one of the primary creditors, appointed the joint receivers under the terms of a fixed and floating charge -- a form of mortgage -- which is registered with the Registrar of Companies.
The Bank can now enforce claims against North Atlantic Data Services. Mr.
Arthur Haycock, senior vice-president at the Bank of Bermuda, said: "We are making every effort to make sure that technical staff and technicians assist customers''.
Neither the spokesman for the receivers or Mr. Haycock would comment on the future of the Wang dealership, which North Atlantic Data Services held in Bermuda.
"We are currently addressing what would happen to the company's various clients and issues relating to staff,'' said Mr. Haycock.
Lawyer Mr. Nigel Howcroft who acts for Kempe and Whittle, said the company will not necessarily be liquidated although he would not comment on what other options existed.
