Bollinger seconded
the Bermuda practice.
He takes over from Jeff Webb, also from the accounting and consulting firm's national insurance practice in New York, who worked here for two and a half years.
The Bermuda firm's managing partner, Jan Spiering, commented: "For some time, it has been our belief that the maturity of the market here requires the top level advice dealing with emerging issues in financial accounting, particularly as it relates to insurance companies.
"In fact, the market here actually creates some of these emerging issues that are being dealt with by the financial accounting standards people. "That's why it is very important to have this expertise here on the Island. Having had Jeff, and now Kevin, seconded here, prevents the need for us to constantly refer issues that arise to our New York office.'' Having been involved with insurance and reinsurance for the last 12 years, Mr. Bollinger comes well prepared. He has extensive accounting and SEC reporting experience in the property/casualty and life/health insurance industry, working closely with companies during their formation, IPOs, secondary offerings and debt registrations.
He has provided assurance and advisory services for complex multinational engagements, and performed extensive business advisory and due diligence procedures on property/casualty and life/health company acquisitions and dispositions.
Mr. Bollinger has also advised on the structuring of finite risk and other related reinsurance products, special purpose entities, and pooling of interest accounting considerations. In addition, he has provided extensive business advisory services including warrant and option structuring to management during the formation of new entities.
