Docks gear up for a busy summer season

The docks are a bee hive of activity this week as container and cruise ships pull up to the wharfs around the Island.

Somers Isles arrived yesterday from Florida with a cargo of 98 containers of which eight were refrigerated There were also nine pleasure crafts, a van and 38 bundles of building material on board.

Bermuda Islander is expected to make the return trip from Salem on Thursday with 105 containers of which 20 were refrigerated.

A shipment of propane gas is expected to arrive tomorrow on board Coral Acropora .

Oleander arrived in Hamilton Harbour on Sunday with a cargo of 134 dry container and 38 refrigerated, ten trailers containing various building material, 35 cars and one 18 foot pleasure boat.

Cruise ship season is now in full swing there are six ships expected at various docks around the Island.

Zenith arrived yesterday and will be docked on Front Street until tomorrow when it will transfer to St. George's It is expected that Zenith will set sail on Friday afternoon if the winds are favourable.

The cruise ship Horizon also arrived yesterday morning and docked in St.

George's.

Horizon will shift to Hamilton Harbour this morning and put out to sea again on Friday morning.

Norwegian Majesty will pull up to the dock today at Ordnance Island for a five day stay and set sail again on Friday afternoon.

Crown Dynasty is coming in from Baltimore Friday afternoon for a three night stay, setting sail on Sunday.

Pacific Princess , with 626 passengers on board, and sister ship Nordic Empress are scheduled to arrive today and will stay four days.
