Telemaque new ADC
beginning next year.
The present ADC, Capt. Wayne Smith, will complete his two year tour of duty at Government House at the end of this year and will be succeeded by Capt. Marc Telemaque.
"Yes, I'm pleased,'' Mr. Telemaque said.
"Certainly the position is an important position because it represents the regiment and Bermuda both locally and overseas and I look forward to doing my best in the post.
"Any appointment within the regiment is another opportunity to serve and I'm just grateful for the opportunity to continue serving.'' Capt. Telemaque is a barrister and proprietor of the law firm Telemaque and Associates. When asked if his law practice would have to be scaled back, Capt.
Telemaque replied: "Just a little bit, yes.'' Capt. Telemaque was educated at Berkeley Institute and left the school after serving as head boy.
He spent a year in Brazil as a Rotary exchange student before attending Grenville Christian College in Canada. He went on to study law at the University of Buckingham.
Capt. Telemaque has held a variety of legal positions in law firms around the Island.
He took many of the things he learned at these firms and put them to use when opening his own law firm in 1995.
In 1992, Capt. Telemaque joined the Bermuda Regiment. He was commissioned two years later and completed his commissioning course in Jamaica and platoon commander's battle training course in England. He led two junior NCO cadres to North Carolina and served as Second-in-Command of B Company.
