Week of tributes planned
this week.
May 4 to May 10 has been designated as Nurses Week, a time to recognise the high quality of the nursing practice and promote the profession.
Lynn Jackson of the Bermuda Nurses Association said this year's theme, "Healthy Young People Equals a Brighter Tomorrow'' was chosen as a means of focusing attention on the Island's young people.
The week kicked off with a Church Service at St. Paul AME Church in Hamilton yesterday.
And the Nurse of the Year was announced at the Nurse Tea and Fashion Show will be held at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dingy Club yesterday afternoon (see story above).
Today, a fancy dress bowling night will be held and prizes will be awarded for the highest and lowest scores. A netball game will be held on Wednesday at 5.30 p.m. at Bernard Park featuring teams from King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and St. Brendan's Hospital. A basketball game, with teams from the two hospitals, will be held at the Saltus Grammar School Gym from 6 to 9 p.m.
on Thursday.
The week will end with a free Health Fair at the Number One Shed on Saturday.
