Hurricane Emily to Mr. Teddy Tucker will be showing up on store shelves this weekend.

Local musician Mr. Stan Seymour has written his first book `Bermuda, Folklore and Calypso Poems' which blends stories and poetry to cover local history, characters, tradition and sights.

The book, which was published in England, was inspired by Ms Oda Mallory's radio programme where "she was talking about Bermudian folklore and played my recordings about the Bermuda Triangle'' explained Mr. Seymour.

"I went and did some research and ended up putting folklore tales together with poems that I wrote.'' Topics covered include Bermuda's first taxi service -- the men who used to row people back and forth across Hamilton Harbour -- and the story of Spanish invaders who were scared away when British settlers fired one shot at them as they sailed toward Bermuda.

Mr. Seymour said he would be putting music to the poems but would "like to see the school kids take the lyrics and put their music to them''.

And the book is illustrated with pictures from the Bermuda Archives, newspaper photographs and paintings from local artists.
