Winners for standout service during 2012 will be announced during ‘Hospitality Month’ in April.CEO Karla Lacey said: “These awards were developed to recognise and promote organisational excellence within the Hospitality industry.“With the increased focus and interest on the industry, it’s important to highlight the businesses that are doing great things for their employees and the community.”A total of 13 Moongate Awards will be handed out across three categories: Promoting Careers, Attracting & Developing People and Best Employment Practices.Ms Lacey said: “Within the three categories are awards for particular business initiatives and strategies from the Best Local Management Development Strategy, to the Best Career Progression Strategy and the Best Student Placement Provider.“Each requires an organisation to identify their particular issue or challenge, share their goals and quantify the successful outcome.”Another award will be given to an organisation utilising the full range of social media to community with current and potential employees. The New Media Award will also go to a business that encourages people that the hospitality sector is a great place to work.Entries are welcome for all hospitality related businesses and organisations in the following sectors: Guest Accommodations, Dining and Food Service, Activities and Entertainment, Wholesale Distribution, Business Support, Tour and Transport.Ms Lacey said: “The Moongate Awards are a great platform for hospitality employers to obtain recognition for the excellent work they are doing.
