A Sandy's man pleaded guilty to driving whilst impaired by alcohol with a breath sample showing he was almost twice the legal limit.
Senior Crown Counsel Carrington Mahoney told Magistrates' Court how Police stopped Bruce David Hadden, 33, of Gate Horse Lane, who was driving a van on March 3, on South Shore Road, Warwick, near Marley Beach guesthouse.
When officers approached him, they noticed his eyes were glazed and smelled alcohol on his breath.
They asked him if he had been drinking, he said no.
He was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station, where he gave a breath sample of 159 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millimetres of blood.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined Hadden $800 and disqualified him from driving all vehicles for 12 months.
